"Dear interested parties, Germany and Europe have recognised that without efficient infrastructure and sustainable housing construction, there can be neither economic progress nor social stability. That is why, as you have no doubt heard in the media, record investments are planned for our industry in the coming years: 500 billion euros for infrastructure projects, a ‘housing construction turbo’ and 3.5 billion euros for social housing construction – to name just a few examples. These measures require not only capital – above all, they need people who can implement them: people who take responsibility, plan, build, manage and inspect, and who can master the construction and environmental challenges of the future. And this is exactly where you come in. Because the demand for construction and environmental engineers remains high. The faculty is responding to this demand with practical and broad-based teaching that also integrates increasingly important topics such as digitalisation, sustainability and climate protection into the curriculum. By studying one of our degree programmes – civil engineering, environmental engineering or project management in civil engineering – you will play an active role in shaping the future of society. Our graduates enter a job market that not only offers a wide range of opportunities – it is literally waiting for you. Best regards and see you soon"

Further information can be found on the association’s website: www.biw-friends.de
Many students in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering are active members of the student association VDBau e.V. (Verein Deggendorfer Bauingenieure). The association’s aim is to facilitate the exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge and to enrich student life both within and outside the university. VDBau acts as a link between students, graduates, professors and representatives from the business world. This enables the association to assist with the organisation of lectures and excursions, as well as with arranging dissertations, internships and job vacancies.
