Our research profile is characterized by its interdisciplinary research priorities. These are represented in research campus, several institutes and the faculties. As part of its knowledge and technology transfer (WTT) activities, DIT acts as a point of contact, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its close collaboration with the regional economy makes the university the motor and mentor of a whole region. DIT thus supports the political model of a science-based regional and structural policy in the Free State of Bavaria in a regional and supra-regional visibility.
The Research Campus and some of DIT's institutes are deliberately located in rural regions in order to support the transfer of technology and knowledge from and for the economy and society.
With the Research Campus a concept that is unique in Bavaria so far is being implemented: a university opens up consistently to industry and works closely with partner municipalities and the regional economy to develop a new technology image for an entire region. DIT consistently uses its expertise and high-quality equipment to strengthen regional companies. The principle of value creation in the region is successfully implemented here.
