The concept of the programme: dual and practical

Business Administration and Service Management is a fully-fledged bachelor's degree programme with an internationally recognised qualification. It follows a unique dual study model and can be taken on a full-time or part-time basis.

As a university, we provide the theoretical foundation and enable you to organise your studies in a way that suits you best thanks to flexible study and time models and intensive support.

Global entry made easy: To make it easier for our international students to start their studies, 100% of the lectures in semesters 1 and 2 are held online and in English. This allows students to participate from their home country or another location of their choice. Afterwards, they come to the campus for face-to-face study. From the first semester onwards, German courses are also part of the programme.

Study with maximum flexibility – recognised worldwide

The Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration and Service Management combines theory and paid practical experience in hotel management – based on a unique dual model over 7 semesters.

Practical experience from the 3rd semester onwards: you alternate between university and a renowned hotel company, apply your knowledge directly and receive a monthly salary – allowing you to finance your studies and build your career.

The advantages of a dual study programme:

  • Financing your studies: A fixed monthly income ensures your financial independence. You will usually receive a monthly salary from our practice partners. Best of all, the practical training days are an integral part of your studies, so you can earn money without any additional stress while studying at the same time.
  • Excellent career opportunities: By cooperating with a partner company, you significantly increase your career and employment opportunities.
  • Benefit from our network: You benefit from our network of practice partners, and we actively support you in your search for a partner company.
  • We support you: We help you with all questions relating to your dual study programme and offer you numerous support services.
  • Why DIT: At Deggendorf Institute of Technology, you can expect a multicultural and friendly environment with excellent support services. Learn more about the benefits of our university. Why study at DIT?

Course Structure

  • Basic studies:

You will complete the first and second semesters through supervised distance learning at your home location or a location of your choice. Lectures are held in English.

  • Finding a practical placement:

If you pass all your exams in the first semester, we will invite you to interviews with our practical partners. After a successful interview, you will be offered an employment contract.

This contract guarantees you a monthly income for the remaining semesters of your Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Service Management, which will finance your studies and your living expenses.

The existence of an employment contract is a prerequisite for transferring to the main course of study.

  • Dual main study programme:

Further study is only possible if you have a contract with a practical training company and meet additional requirements, such as German language skills at level A2 and 30 ECTS from the first semester. In the unlikely event that you have passed all your exams but still haven't found a practical training partner, we can offer you the option of switching to an alternative degree programme for your further studies.

50% of the main course of study is combined with practical work in the company. This allows theory and practice to be directly combined, enabling you to immediately apply and deepen your knowledge. You will also spend the lecture-free period in your company. In return for your work, you will receive a monthly allowance, social benefits and holiday entitlement.
